An old man says with tears in his eyes after the floods swept away his property

Eight people working at the Melamchi Drinking Water Project have lost contact due to floods caused by rains. According to the Melamchi Drinking Water Development Committee, eight workers including three Chinese, three Indians and two Nepalis have gone missing. They are being searched with the help of Nepal Police, Armed Police Force and locals.Watch the video below –


Similarly, 20 people, including Chinese and Indian nationals, have gone missing in the Melamchi floods. According to the district administration office, three Indians and three Chinese nationals were also missing.


According to the project, 76 people at the construction site were rescued by helicopter and brought to Kathmandu and Dhulikhel. The condition of all those rescued is now normal. The project has stated that no damage has been received in the main tunnel, water treatment center and main dam of the project.


The project’s camps, equipment, construction materials, access roads and bridges have been flooded. The project area was flooded at around 7 pm on Tuesday. The floods were caused by incessant rains above the headwaters in Ambathan.
