Following the Supreme Courts order, the question has arisen as to whether the Prime Minister and CPN-UML Chairman KP Oli has won or lost. It remains to be seen what the Mahanta Thakur faction of the Janata Samajwadi Party (JSP) will do now that it is ready to split the party to join the current government. Because the mahant party leaders have left the government in 19 days.

Along with the Supreme Court’s order, Deputy Prime Minister and Urban Development Minister Mahato and eight other ministers and two ministers of state have resigned. All the four ministers in the cabinet are from UML.
