How does the internet work via cable? Who owns the Internet?

In today’s world, the Internet has been a very necessary element of day to day life. People can forget to eat, play and do other necessary activities but they never forget to be on the internet. But have we even wondered and thought about the working process of the Internet?

In this we can get all the information regarding the working principle of interest. We may think, internet works through the satellite communication system or may run because of the connection of the network. But the actual thing is that 90% of the internet works based on the fiber optic cable. the internet has to be bypassed through three different routes/companies to come into our home.

First one is the TR1 company, and it is that company, who have access to the whole cabling system around the whole world. These companies have set all the cables(fiber optics) under the sea, so also known as the submarine cable. But inside the sea, there is a high probability of damage to submarine cables. So to overcome this problem, different backup cables are set up inside the sea for the recovery and maintenance. So we can say that, internet is free but they charge the cost of the fiber optic cables(setup cost) and their maintenance cost.

Each and every cable has thin fiber optics which have hair sixe in shape and each of them holds about 100 Gbps speed in them. And all these cables are set up by the TR1 company all around the world. There is one website named submarinecablemap.com and if we want to look at the digital map of the whole set of submarine cables around the world then, you can visit this site.

All the cables have their landing points in each country and hold the data traffics of the country. TR2 company buys the bandwidth from the TR2 company and sells it to the TR1 company. And the cost of the internet increases while passing through each company and finally it is sold out into our local branches and finally set up into its own home.

We can also look at the way/route of data cable connection through the different websites like-nixi and in command prompt we can use the tracert to trace the location and look about the bypass route of our internet server.

Overall, we can conclude that, internet is all free but the setup and maintenance cost makes it high. If we can develop our own internet server inside our own country and if there is no need to pass it  through the different proxy servers then the speed of the internet will be very high and the setup and maintenance cost will also decrease.
