Actress Manisha Koirala diagnosed with Ovarian cancer, After knowing that she diagnosed with ovarian cancer and she lost her ability of being a mother which break her mentally and emotionally. After than she returned five years later with the coming-of-age drama Dear Maya  released in 2017. With the following year, she featured in the Netflix production Lust Stories. Also, in the biography Sanju.. The latter ranks among the highest-grossing Indian releases. Beside being actress in films, Koirala is also a stage performer.

she has contributed as an author to the novel Healed as an account of her struggle with ovarian cancer. She had also published her two books in English and Nepali script named “Healed” and “jijibisha”. These books are mostly oriented towards the life story of Koirala. In 1999 and 2015 She was also appointed as the Goodwill Ambassador for the United Nations Population Fund. She was also involved in the relief works after the April 2015 Nepal earthquake. Koirala also promotes causes such as women’s rights, prevention of human trafficking, prevention of violence against women, and cancer awareness programs.


Manisha Koirala is a Nepalese actress who is also known for her work in Indian movies as well. She is provided with several accolades which includes including four Filmfare Awards. The Government of Nepal awarded her with the Order of Gorkha Dakshina Bahu in 2001. This was the second highest honor of our country.
Manisha Koirala was Born tin politically prominent Koirala family. she is the daughter of Prakash Koirala . And also a granddaughter of Bishweshwar Prasad Koirala. Bishweshwar prasad Koirala is also a former Prime Minister of Nepal. At the initial days, she was aspiring to become a doctor. She also had a brief stint in modeling. But with time, she subsequently made her acting debut with the Nepali film Pheri Bhetaula (1989).

She was dubbing this flim while she was in school. koirala later went on to feature(play a role) in the Hindi movie Saudagar in1991. Ater following a series of commercial failures, she established herself as a leading actress. She came into limelight with acclaimed patriotic romance 1942: A Love Story released in1994. Also with the Tamil-language romantic drama Bombay released in1995. koirala subsequently starring in a series of commercial successes which includes the thriller Agni Sakshi  released in 1996, the vigilante action Indian released in 1996, the suspense thriller Gupt: The Hidden Truth released in1997, the action thriller Kachche Dhaage, , the gangster drama Company (2002) and the romance Ek Chhotisi Love Story (2002).

She received critical recognition for her portrayal of an ambitious wife in the drama Akele Hum Akele Tum (1995), a terrorist in the romantic thriller Dil Se.. (1998) the Tamil-language political thriller Mudhalvan (both 1999) the daughter of deaf-mute parents in the musical romance Khamoshi: The Musical (1996), Sushmita Banerjee in the biopic Escape From Taliban (2003), , a mistreated woman in the drama Lajja (2001) .


Koirala began to work with independent film makers in art-house projects and in regional films post-2003. koirala performance in the drama Tulsi  which was released in 2008, the Malayalam psychological drama Elektra  released in 2010, the anthology I Am  released in 2010 and the romantic comedy Mappillai  released in 2011 was really awesome. She took a break from acting carrer when she get diagnosed with ovarian cancer in the year 2012.
