The land worth billions of rupees has been brought under its ownership by the Bharatpur Municipal Corporation. The metropolis has brought a bigha 15 dhur land in the main city of Bharatpur connected to the east-west highway under its ownership.

An agreement was reached between the Nepal Netrajyoti Sangh and Bharatpur on Thursday to take ownership of the remaining one bigha seven kattha 15 dhur land north of Bharatpur Oralo. The MoU has been signed by Metropolitan Chief Renu Dahal and Association President Krishna Raj Dharel.

“I think it is an important achievement to bring the land that has been owned by a private organization for years under the ownership of the local government,” Dahal said. She said the land would be used as needed.

The field book registration in the name of the United States Agency for International Development Mission to Nepal (USAID) has been in the possession of the land association since December 10, 2046. There is a building of Bharatpur Eye Hospital Chij Kumar and Bishnukumari Shrestha Outdoor Services Department in seven blocks out of one bigha, seven blocks and 15 acres of land.

A businessman operated the Jungle Island Hotel on the remaining land. The association has canceled the agreement with the hotel after the land lease agreement expired. Currently, work is underway to cut down the structure and trees inside the hotel. The metropolis has agreed to register the land where the hospital building is located in the name of the association and if it cannot be registered for any reason, the association will be allowed to operate its own project.

Similarly, an agreement was reached between the association and the metropolis on Thursday to manage the resources for the next building to be constructed by the hospital and to waive the fee for passing the plan of the building.

As soon as the agreement is reached, the red part of the land will have to be made in the name of the metropolis to bring it under its ownership. Chief Administrative Officer of the metropolis Ram Bandhu Subedi informed that the process of making red card will now move forward.
