Three Nepal Army helicopters have arrived in the district today for management and rescue. The Ministry of Home Affairs has managed food, tents, tents and sleeping bags. Minister for Health and Population Sher Bahadur Tamang has discussed with Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli for further rescue and relief.

The Silk Group has donated 200 bags of rice on the initiative of Agni Prasad Sapkota, Speaker of the House of Representatives and People’s Representative of Sindhupalchowk. On the occasion, Speaker Sapkota handed over the rice received through Silk Transport to Melamchi-Indravati Area Natural Disaster Management Main Committee Coordinator Krishna Gopal Tamang.

The food grains were delivered to Melamchi by the Silk Group. Food has been delivered to the affected areas today. Silk Group is also providing 100 tripods and mattresses to the flood victims. Chairman of the Silk Group, Ramesh Sherpa, informed that the tripod and mattress at Tatopani customs were for Melamchi. The Silk Group, which is involved in cross-border trade in the Himalayas, has been assisting the people affected by natural calamities before.

One person has died in floods in Helambu and Melamchi areas of Sindhupalchowk on Tuesday evening after three days of incessant rains. According to the local administration, dozens of people have gone missing due to the floods. Along with Speaker Sapkota, Minister for Health and Population Sher Bahadur Tamang reached the affected areas and engaged in rescue, management and relief distribution. The floods have inundated most areas of Melamchi market.
