Nepal defeated Sri Lanka 3-2 in the second match of the SAFF Championship.

Suman Lama scored the first goal for Nepal in the 30th minute, and Ayush Ghalan scored the second. Ghalan, meanwhile, scored the third goal in the 85th minute. During this game, both of them scored their first goals for the national team.

The hosts Maldives were beaten 1-0 by Nepal in the opening encounter of the football competition, which began on Friday.
As a consequence of the results, Nepal has risen to the top of the table with a total of six points from two matches.
 On Friday, Nepal defeated Maldives 1-0, with Manish Dangi scoring the game’s lone goal. Bangladesh is in second place with four points, while India is in third place with one point after their first match finished in a tie. In the five-team competition, the Maldives and Sri Lanka are yet to register. After a round robin league, the top two teams will proceed to the final.
Suman Lama received a pass from Nawayug Shrestha, outpaced a Sri Lankan defender, and shot home from within the box against the flow of play in the 33rd minute, despite Sri Lanka goalkeeper Sujan Perera putting his hands on the ball. After Nawayug Shrestha’s initial shot was denied by Sri Lankan goalkeeper Perera following a cross from Ayush Ghalan, man-of-the-match Anjan Bista increased the tally seven minutes into the second half.
Bangladesh had come back from a goal behind to tie 1-1 with India earlier. Sunil Chhetri gave India the lead in the 26th minute, while Bangladesh suffered a setback when Bishwanath Ghosh was sent off in the 54th minute, reducing them to ten men. Bangladesh tied the game in the 74th minute via to a goal by Yeasin Arafat, and they held on for a one-point victory
