Prime Minister Oli will inaugurate the Dharahara tower on April 25

As the reconstruction work of the historicDharahara tower has reached its final stage, it will be inaugurated on April 25. Chief Executive Officer of the National Reconstruction Authority Sushil Gyawali informed that preparations have been made for the inauguration by Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli.

The catastrophic earthquake of 2072 BS destroyed the historical heritage including the tower. With the completion of most of the reconstruction works, NEA is going to prepare a program for the 10-year grand campaign to build a disaster risk-free Nepal. The 18th meeting of the Board of Directors chaired by the Prime Minister and Chairman of the NEA Board of Directors Oli on Tuesday prepared a proposal for the program and decided to start the campaign from the next fiscal year.

A proposal for such a program is being prepared in collaboration with the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Authority of the National Reconstruction Authority. The meeting of the Board of Directors has expressed happiness over the completion of the post-earthquake reconstruction and rehabilitation work. Prime Minister Oli said that the success of the reconstruction was Nepal’s pride and property and it was worth showing to the world. The meeting also decided to move ahead with the budget and program of the coming fiscal year by preparing a proposal for the long-term reconstruction program of the urban area keeping in view the reconstruction and rehabilitation work of the entire urban area including the ancient settlements and the World Heritage Area, especially the Kathmandu Valley.
