Top 15 gown at Cannes Film Festival 2022, Nepali Actress Surakshya Panta historic Red Carpet Walk

Surakshya Panta, a well-known and highly acclaimed actress, has made history as the first Nepali female to walk the red carpet at the Cannes Film Festival.

She and the cast of ‘The Eight Mountains,’ her worldwide production due to premiere at Cannes, walked the red carpet of the event hosted in France on Wednesday. Panta announced her attendance at the event on social media and has been sharing photos from her trip to France.

Panta was able to participate in the film since some scenes were shot in Manang, Nepal. Belgian film directors Felix Van Groeningen and Charlotte Vandermeersch directed the film, which is based on Paolo Cognetti’s novel “Le Otto Montagne.”

Felix is notable for being nominated for Best Foreign Language Film at the 86th Academy Awards for his film “The Broken Circle Breakdown.” The Palais des Festivals and des Congrès hosted the Cannes Film Festival, which had been stopped for two years owing to Covid-19. Panta took part in the celebration by attending the premiere, press conference, and photo shoot. Tenzin Tseten Bhutia created her a vivid robe-like crimson outfit for the red carpet occasion.

She wore a pink layered organza gown made by Nepamode to the shooting, which she complemented with pink flowers in her hair. “It seems like the world is observing my people via my presence,” she posted on social media after the event. A representation is difficult work, and I consider myself fortunate to be acknowledged and supported by everyone.”

Priyanka Karki, an actress, attended Cannes in 2017. However, unlike other international celebrities, she was not invited to walk the red carpet at Cannes. The Cannes Film Festival takes place in France from May 17 to 28 this year.

She traveled to France to see the premiere of The Eight Mountains, a French film shot in Nepal and Italy. This is her first role in a foreign film. On May 19, the film debuted at Cannes, one of the world’s most prestigious film festivals. Felix van Groeningen and Charlotte Vandermeers directed the film.
